Archive of lightning photographs taken throughout South Africa by me, Bryn De Kocks. These amazing events are rare in Cape Town and only occur about 8 times a year meaning I generally have quite a task ahead of me when attempting to capture the storms here in the Western Cape. Lightning photography in itself can be quite tedious if you do not know what you're doing and during daylight hours it proves to be even more difficult as you are not able to hold the shutter open for periods of 1second+.
