As with typical style the system weakened rapidly as it approached some shear and lower SSTs. It just missed the Outer Banks and went on to make landfall in Nova Scotia, a friend of mine in Halifax said they were without power for about 5 hours as the storm passed, winds were sustained at around 75km/h for a while. It strengthened a bit just before the Nova Scotia landfall.
